Purley and Coulsdon Food Stop
The Food Stop project provides around £20 of groceries for only £3.50 per week for anyone who is on benefits, has been furloughed or laid off from their job as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. It is also available to anyone who is self-isolating and has no support locally.
Food packages are delivered free of charge each Friday, or can be collected from Old Lodge Lane Baptist Church on Friday mornings. Multiple packs can be supplied where there are two or more people in your household.
The Food Stop scheme is a joint venture between Old Lodge Lane Baptist Church, Croydon Council and the Fareshare food charity. Council staff and volunteers are also on hand on Friday mornings to help with advice relating to welfare benefits, debt, job support and skills training.
To apply, either send an email to foodstop@ollbc.org.uk or phone Old Lodge Lane Baptist Church on 020 8668 6260. They will then assess your precise needs and make the necessary arrangements.
